Belimed, Inc., a world leader in infection control, hosted a celebration earlier this week at its new U.S. headquarters to thank those whose efforts aided the transition of its move from Miami to Charleston. Among other amenities, the headquarters is equipped with the state-of-the-art training and education center to support growth in the U.S. market. More than 100 individuals, including representatives of area hospital systems and boards, as well as city, county and state government, were present for the event.

Guests, who were greeted by Charleston Belimed, Inc. staff and three executives from its corporate office in Switzerland, had the opportunity to view washing and sterilizing equipment, watch a simulated 3D video of the workings of a sterile processing department, and enjoy Swiss-themed food, drink and music.

A formal welcome ceremony was conducted with the following distinguished speakers offering remarks: Charleston mayor Joseph P. Riley Jr., Berkeley County supervisor Dan Davis, Belimed, Inc., U.S. president/CEO Joseph McDonald and Belimed group managing director from Switzerland Niklaus Sauter.

Riley thanked Belimed, Inc. for its confidence in Charleston.  He added that he believes Belimed will be successful here, growing in size and in the affection of our community.

A division of Metal-Zug, a Swiss company with an annual sales volume of approximately $500 million, Belimed, Inc. has been providing state-of the-art products in the healthcare, pharmaceutical and laboratory sectors worldwide for more than 30 years. Its new U.S. headquarters is located on Clements Ferry Road in Charleston, S.C.
