Camfil Farr Opens Expanded Facility for the Manufacture of Containment Products

Article

RIVERDALE, N.J., August 2003 - Camfil Farr has opened a new 130,000-square-foot facility in Washington, N.C., for the manufacture of filter containment systems. Four times the size of the former plant, the facility includes expanded space for research and development activities as well as production. It is the new home for the company's rapidly growing Safety and Protection Division, which has recently added staff in engineering, sales and manufacturing.

The Washington, N.C. facility will produce a wide range of specialized products including bag-in/bag-out air filtration systems for the containment of hazardous airborne contaminants. These products have long been used in nuclear facilities, hospitals, chemical and biomedical plants, laboratories and other locations requiring the utmost safety and protection. Now many government buildings, command centers and strategic buildings are also being equipped with these highly customized systems as a safeguard against the threat of bioterrorism.

Camfil Farr has the unique capability to manufacture all of its containment system components in-house - from bags to filter elements to housings. This approach provides customers with optimum compatibility and single-source responsibility. In addition, every component undergoes a Camfil Farr Quality Assurance Procedure that exceeds virtually any published procedure or standard, notably ASME NQA-1.

In addition to bag-in/bag-out systems, the Washington facility will also manufacture a full line of high efficiency gas adsorbers (HEGA filters) and PharmaSeal ducted ceiling modules for cleanroom applications.

A leader in clean air solutions, Camfil Farr manufactures and markets air filtration products for comfort air, clean process, safety and protection, and transportation applications. It is one of the air filtration industry's few global suppliers, with 20 strategically located manufacturing facilities and sales representation in more than 60 countries around the world.
