Halyard Health, a global medical technology company focused on preventing infection, eliminating pain and speeding recovery, will host the second annual SMART-FOLD* Wrap Race Championships to determine the fastest sterilization wrapper at the 2015 International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) 50th Annual Conference and Expo, May 3-6 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. Halyard will also be presenting infection prevention education programs and awards at the conference.

The second annual SMART-FOLD* Wrap Race is a fun and fast paced competition for Sterile Processing and Central Service (CS) professionals to highlight the important role they play in preventing infection in the operating room. The race kicked off in November 2014 and participants tested their wrap skills and speed using SMART-FOLD* Sterilization Wrap, an innovative sterilization packaging designed with the toughest tasks in mind, engineered to protect heavy trays and loaner sets from tears and cuts in handling.

The championship round will bring together four finalists in an exciting playoff against each other. These CS professionals out-wrapped their peers through two preliminary rounds of competition and will compete head-to-head at IAHCSMM. The fastest wrapper will be crowned the 2015 SMART-FOLD* Wrap Race champion.

The contest will be held on Monday, May 4 at 11 a.m.

The four SMART-FOLD* Wrap Race finalists are:
• Darreona McDowell, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite, Atlanta
