McKesson Automated Healthcare Unveils New Supply Cabinet

Article

McKesson Automated Healthcare (MAH) will unveil a new component to its SupplyScan product line during the Association for Healthcare Resource and Materials Management (AHRMM) 40th Annual Conference and Exhibition in San Antonio, Texas. SupplyScan, which is currently installed at more than 185 facilities throughout the United States, is a bar code based automated point-of-use system for managing supplies and capturing information. The SupplyScan open system currently includes the Medical/Surgical module, as well as the Specialty Lab module, which is designed to provide inventory management for procedure-based areas within hospitals.

The new component, Supply Cabinet, joins the SupplyScan family of products as a secure inventory management solution. The Supply Cabinet combines technology with simplicity to create increased efficiencies and reduced operating expenses within hospitals. Used stand-alone or combined with the SupplyScan open bin system, Supply Cabinet will enable materials managers to receive real-time visual access to inventory levels, as well as critical supply level alerts at individual stocking locations, which virtually eliminate supply stock-outs.

AHRMM attendees are invited to stop by McKesson booth #325 on Monday, August 5, 2002 at 11:30 a.m. for the product unveiling and to see the SupplyScan product line. After the product unveiling, attendees are encouraged to stay for a booth tour to learn about all of McKesson's comprehensive solutions for healthcare supply distribution and information systems management for Materials Managers and the operating room.

McKesson, a Fortune 31 corporation, is the world's largest healthcare services company. McKesson Automated Healthcare, a business unit of McKesson Corporation, is a leading provider of pharmacy and supply automation solutions that help hospitals re-engineer and improve their medication use and supply management processes.
