EDMONTON, Alberta -- Medical Services
International Inc. announces that Beijing
officials have approved the shipping of VScan HIV 1&2 rapid test kits to
certain Provincial police departments to start a mandatory testing program for
HIV in drug rehabilitation facilities. This testing will be done in the form
of a clinical trial.
It has become mandatory in the majority of the provinces in the People's
Republic of China that all individuals starting drug rehabilitation programs
and prisoners suspected of using drugs to be tested for HIV. The VScan HIV 1&2
rapid test kit is the first rapid test kit to be used in this manner in China.
Medical Services has been given this opportunity as a result of the
excellent test results achieved to date during the ongoing testing of the
VScan HIV test kits related to the application for SDA approval of the VScan
test kit.
The VScan rapid test kit is a single-use, easy-to-use test for the
screening of HIV 1&2 and subgroup O, Hepatitis B&C, Tuberculosis (TB) and West
Nile.
