Medline University Free Online Clinical Education Resource Ready to Explode With New iPad App

Medline University (MU), Medline Industries, Inc.'s free online clinical education resource, is expanding its reach to thousands more clinicians with the release today of an application accessible through the iPad®. The app will provide clinicians fast and convenient access to a wealth of free clinical education resources, continuing education contact hours and healthcare industry information. The app is available through www.medlineuniversity.com or at the Apple iTunes store at http://itunes.apple.com/app/freece-hd/id405337629.

"As more healthcare professionals rely on their mobile devices for daily tasks and information, our new iPad app will provide broader and faster access to the valuable resources found on MU," says Sue MacInnes, Medline's chief marketing officer. "Every day, thousands of healthcare professionals take advantage of the free resources and continuing education credits they can earn on Medline University. The iPad is one more way they can access MU anywhere and anytime."

The MU iPad app will allow users access to a broad range of valuable clinical information through the iPad's fast Internet connectivity, including the ability to take courses, watch video presentations and read up-to-the-minute newsfeeds affecting the healthcare industry.

More than 100,000 users are registered with Medline University and take an average of 15,000 courses every month. Medline University offers 186 free continuing education credits covering a broad healthcare curriculum, including Infection Control, Incontinence, Respiratory Care, Long-Term Care Administration and Nursing; Home Care, Legal Aspects of Nursing and Safety.

In addition to the iPad, MU courses are available on an iPhone® app, as audio files that can be downloaded as podcasts to MP3 players and other mobile devices, or to computers as PDF documents.

Courses delivered through MU are approved as continuing education contact hours by the Florida Board of Nursing and the California Board of Registered Nursing. Many of the courses are also certified by the National Association of Long Term Care Administrator Boards, the Association for Surgical Technicians, and by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
