SAN JOSE, Calif. - EcoTru is the only U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-registered Tox. Category IV disinfectant on the market.
The new disinfectant reportedly kills tuberculosis and a wide spectrum of viruses, bacteria and fungi within 10 minutes, without any of the hazards of other disinfectants.
The product needs no warning labels and does not irritate the eyes. Additionally, it can be ingested without harmful side effects.
Manufactured by EnviroSystems, Inc., the disinfectant joins a line of other environmentally friendly infection control products.
"The need to safeguard public health is more important than ever before," says company president and CEO Diana Hoffman. "During the past 50 years, the evolution of pathogens has outpaced that of the disinfectants used to control them. Antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria have emerged, compounding the risk of nosocomial infections."
