SpectraSan 24 Releases Educational Videos on HAIs

Article

BioTech Medical, Inc. is making education and public awareness a top priority. The makers of SpectraSan 24, along with Emmy award-winning TV medical correspondent Dr. Bob Arnot, have created a video gallery that enlightens the public about the rising concerns of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), the dangers associated with continued use of traditional disinfectants, and the significant role that unprotected high-touch surfaces play in transmitting MRSA, influenza A, H1N1, and other pathogens.

The first video in this series investigates the alarming rise of HAIs in facilities across the country. "This video series is merely a conscious response to the overwhelming number of product and prevention inquiries we receive on a daily basis," says Andrea Goren, executive director of Biotech Medical, Inc. "With the assistance of medical professionals like Dr. Bob Arnot, and pediatric surgeon, Dr. Robert Parry of the Rainbow Babies and Children Hospital in Cleveland, we are building an educational portal accessible not only to our institutional clientele, but for the public as well. This educational video gallery can be viewed at our website, www.spectrasan.com, as well as through YouTube, Twitter, Facebook and other social mediums."

SpectraSan 24 can be used to kill dangerous germs on hard surfaces in a wide variety of settings such as hospitals, medical and dental offices, long-term care facilities, child care centers, cruise ships, sports facilities, commercial buildings and homes. Disinfectants are vital but virtually all are extremely toxic. The "holy grail" of disinfection has been to find an agent that is nontoxic and yet has a high residual value so to retain resistance to re-infection after cleaning. Arnot, chief medical educator for Biotech Medical, Inc., says, "SpectraSan 24 represents a breakthrough in germ defense and these videos are a key component to educating the public regarding everything from dangerous germs lurking on high-touch surfaces to the health dangers associated with traditional household disinfectants and cleaners."
