An infection preventionist (IP) for the Snohomish Health District in Washington State, focusing on respiratory infections (COVID-19, Influenza, RSV), and other healthcare associated infections for over 735 long-term care facilities. He also provides infection control guidance for the county’s shelters, corrections, substance dependency rehabilitation facilities, convention centers, and schools. Additionally, he is finishing his MPH at UAB with a concentration in Epidemiology, focusing on infections diseases, food & water-born disease, and Candida identification research; as well as a member of UAB, PHSA, and APIC.

Nathan is a USAF veteran with over 13 years of domestic and international experience. He started his career as an Avionics Technician and has filled multiple interim positions within Base Security, Logistics Management, and Public Health at start of the COVID-19 pandemic. After separating from the military in 2021, he returned to his hometown in central-Florida and interned at the FDOH as an HAI Epidemiologist.

Furthermore, Nathan is proud to utilize the skills learned from his volunteering involvement as an outreach director for the unhoused, elderly, and orphanages, professional org. president for deployed military members, and NOVA certified SAPR Project Rep., He has also assisted with multiple Six Sigma process improvement events, Meals-on-Wheels deliveries, and Red Cross courses. This, along with his psychology background, inspired him to develop a mental health outreach group that integrated surfing and water activities as an outlet and safe space.
