Samantha Picking, PharmD, is the director of immunizations at Walgreens, where she spearheads the development and execution of enterprise-wide immunization strategies. In her role, Samantha collaborates with a wide range of cross-functional teams--including marketing, digital/IT, pharma, clinical, regulatory, and operations--to design, build, and deploy new and enhanced immunization programs. Her team is pivotal in advancing equitable and convenient access to life-saving vaccines.
Before this role, Samantha dedicated 9 years to various strategic and operational positions at Walgreens. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of New England in Portland, Maine, and joined Walgreens in 2014 as a community pharmacy practice resident in Worcester, Mass. After spending 7 years in field operations, in 2021, Samantha moved to the support office to lead the COVID-19 immunization operations team.
