Tara Millson is the director of infection prevention at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. She has extensive clinical experience in nursing and infection prevention in acute care and hemodialysis settings, as well as experience in public health surveillance at the CDC in Atlanta, Georgia. She is active with several professional organizations, serving as vice chair for the Practice Guidance Committee of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) and serving on the Guidelines Committee of the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America. She was certified in infection control in 2016, earned a doctorate in nursing practice and infection prevention from Loyola University Chicago in 2018, and was named a fellow of APIC in 2020.
