Jan-Pro International, Inc., a leader in commercial cleaning, announces that its EnviroShield Spray Disinfecting System, used to kill harmful bacteria including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), has expanded its use into hospitals.
St. Joseph's Hospital, part of Catholic Healthcare West, operates a large 750-bed hospital in Phoenix. Maurice Croteau, St. Joseph's supervisor for environmental services, is charged with the task of disinfecting the sizable medical center. After evaluating disinfectants, Croteau picked the Jan-Pro EnviroShield System.
"Most disinfectants contain soap and leave a sticky film that needs to be wiped down. EnviroShield is the only disinfectant I've seen that kills the harmful bacteria and leaves no residue," Croteau says. "The disinfection takes place in minutes. This is very important to us as the hospital has so many areas, waiting rooms, treatment areas, doctor's offices, that we simply can't shut down to clean."
With the EnviroShield Spray System by Jan-Pro, disinfectant clings to all surfaces and hard-to-reach crevices, designed to achieve 100 percent disinfection coverage. Entire surfaces are disinfected in minutes.
"I am amazed at EnviroShield's ability to work on all surfaces. It does not leave a moist film, even on fabric chairs or keyboards," Croteau adds. "It offers disinfection coverage with the most complete encapsulation system that I have seen, and that is important in a hospital application."
"We are pleased that hospitals like St. Joseph are choosing to disinfect with EnviroShield," says Rich Kissane, president and CEO of Jan-Pro. "EnviroShield meets all EPA requirements for Toxicity Category IV -- no harmful dermal, ocular, inhalation or ingestion effects. It's the powerful solution to killing harmful contaminants, and yet it's environmentally safe and requires no special handling."
